The pen is surrounded by a highlighter, that when twisting the barrel, rises out of the barrel making the pen tip disappear inside. Twisting the barrel in the other direction forces the highlighter back into the barrel, leaving only the pen tip. This is a great way to save time, and make sure you get the notes you need with the important notes highlighted for your easy reference later.

Unlike other 2-in-1s the Duo does not have the pen on one side and the highlighter on the other. This 2-in-1 uses the whole barrel to store its ink, meaning it will last twice as long.
